About the Position: The incumbent of this position will serve as Deputy Logistics Management Officer to the Deputy Chief of Staff. Responsibilities will include the planning, coordination, and supervision of the Logistics, Acquisition, and Management divisions within the United States Army Recruiting Command. The Incumbent will provide direct support to 8 Brigades and the US Recruiting Command Headquarters, all of which are dispersed throughout 50 states and U.S Territories
Duties
Oversee all facets of program management that effects the organization, the workforce and interrelations with subordinate and higher organizations.
Provide command group briefings to verify that each program area is meeting mission requirements and effectively servicing assigned installation.
Serve as a coordinating official for personnel actions recommended by subordinate supervisors and managers.
Manage personnel management activities (performance management, staffing, labor management, position management) to enhance workforce’s ability to support logistical operations.
Analyze multiple program areas (i.e., Logistics, Acquisition, Management) to integrate mission critical program priorities.
Review new and changing logistics program policies to ensure directives are implemented into program structure.
Evaluate logistics program processes to ensure concepts are serving the needs of the organization.
Maintain direct oversight of budget and accounting requirements by analyzing resource utilization within assigned command.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The incumbent is required to submit an Executive Branch Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE 450.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting analysis of logistical studies and data to improve overall logistical efficiencies; managing personnel who perform logistics, acquisitions, or manpower functions; advising senior-leadership on all pertinent logistical matters effecting the operability of the program; interpreting incoming logistics policy and directives to provide guidance to workforce; and utilizing technical procedures to manage multifunction logistical supply, maintenance, property and/or transportation program areas. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
