About the Position: This position serves as planner and scheduler for work planning activities of facilities and equipment projects concerning equipment, facility or service operations at McAlester Army Ammunition Plant.

Duties

Reviews job orders, accompanying plans and estimating data and considers availability of specific trade skills and deadlines. Approves work requests within approval authority, or routes to individual with appropriate authority. Applies sound knowledge of construction principles and techniques in evaluating facilities utilization and requirements to support short and long-range projects. Initiates close coordination with all organizational elements to ensure accomplishment of work commensurate with manpower, materials, and facilities available. Schedules work for concurrent performance where possible insuring that skills, trades and shops are being fully utilized.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized experience: Your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which includes answering all work order questions and solving problems that arise including accomplishment of work, defining installation activities involved, planning coordination, budgetary requirements and craft skills involved in accomplishing required work; serving in the function of in-house workforce scheduler through coordination of work authorization documents involved with specific projects or individual requests for in-house work; and maintaining records and visual aids to reflect the status of jobs planned and in progress. OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in any major field of study which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position such as engineering, facilities management, or project management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Facilities Operations and MaintenanceFacilities Reporting and Record-KeepingFacilities Requirements Analysis and PlanningProject Planning, Design, and Construction Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
