About the Position: Inspect facilities, review construction specifications, coordinate project work utilizing quality assurance process and evaluate performance of major systems such as heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical and structural as well as develop and maintain safety programs.
Duties
Collect, organize, analyze data and perform test measurements to determine quality of service being provided by workforce.
Interpret safety and occupational health standards as they relate to shop areas, office work areas and construction work sites.
Develop and provide safety training and identify hazards and hazardous behaviors.
Plan work to be accomplished, interpret policy and procedures and establish priorities.
Serve as in-house quality assurance team Lead responsible for trades-level work inspectors.
Administer contracts with respect to both government and contractors’ requirements and privileges.
Requirements

- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) incumbent is required to work as scheduled to support mission operations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience assisting with the coordination of work projects and evaluating work performance on major complex systems such as heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical and structural; experience reading and interpreting drawings, blueprints and applying practical mathematics; experience reviewing quality assurance processes of maintenance, repair and construction work; and experience assisting with implementing and evaluating safety programs.

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as facility management, project management or engineering. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
