About the Position: Serves as a Senior Operations Specialist for the Plans and Operations Division, Directorate of Plans,Training, Mobilization and Security on a Most Optimized Strategically Responsive (MOSR)Installation.
Duties
Action officer for operational staff actions as directed by the Supervisor Chief, Plans and Operations Branch.
Maintains continuous situational awareness of all operations within the installation and in the vicinity of the installation that potentially impact installation operations.
Serves as special project officer for a myriad of actions involving Garrison Command, and higher headquarters emphasis.
Requirements
- May require shift work and/or work on rotating shifts to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays and in other situations.
- TDY travel is occasionally required.
- This position is designated as key and essential in accordance with the provisions of AR 690-8 AND AR 690-11.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes writing and tracking operational orders/taskings; preparing unit readiness reports to assess mission readiness of an installation/organization; creating and presenting official informational briefings.

Education: Successfully completed a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Operations or Emergency Management. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
