You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (INFORMATION SYSTEMS) in the Management & Administration of NCIS.
All Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) positions are in the excepted service. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.

Duties
You will receive, review, and analyze request for HR data or reports on personnel, positions, or organizational structure.
You will determine the availability of the data within existing manpower and HR information systems (HRIS), and identify the most efficient and effective way to retrieve the information.
You will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and availability of HR information used to make leadership decisions related to the management of the agency’s workforce.
You will generate and analyze statistical data and to identify trends, patterns, and potential gaps in succession planning.
You will provide pertinent information to leadership in determining organizational restructuring, hiring, assignments, promotions, compensation, performance management, promotions, and etc
You will serve as the HR information systems technical expert responsible for planning, coordinating, and evaluating current HR information systems
You will provide expert interpretation and application of federal HR laws/statutes, DoD directives, DON instructions, and NCIS policy governing HRIS systems, functions, and data maintenance, retrieval, and usage.
You will routinely evaluates the accuracy and integrity of NCIS’s HR data; modifying program procedures, techniques, and requirements as necessary.
Requirements

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: generate and analyze statistical data and to identify trends, patterns, potential gaps in succession planning; Planning, coordination, and evaluating HR information systems; AND providing advice on complex and controversial issues pretending to HR Information Systems (HRIS) functional areas.
