Duties

Serves as Lead IT Specialist for the Enterprise Software and Mobility Services Branch (ESMS), Enterprise IT Architecture Division (EIA), Technology Foundation Services (TFS), Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS), and Information Operations (J6). Provides Tier 3 Enterprise support / engineering services, vulnerability management / DLA CERT compliance activities, standard desktop configuration (SDC), Real-time Communications services (Skype for Business, O365, etc. Represents the team in dealings with the supervisor for the purpose of obtaining resources (e.g., computer hardware and software, use of overtime or compensatory time), and securing needed information from the supervisor on major work problems. Ensures the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives work plans, work products and services. Trains team members in methods and techniques of team building to accomplish tasks and provides or arranges for specific administrative or technical training necessary for accomplishment of individual and team tasks. Maintains program and administrative reference materials, project files and relevant back-ground documents and makes available policies, procedures and written instructions from the supervisor. Represents the team consensus and conveys the team's findings and recommendations in meetings with other leaders, program officials, the public and other customers on issues related to the team's objectives, work products and / or tasks.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Lead IT Specialist (SYSADMIN/INFOSEC), your qualifications must include: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS- 12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in- grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Provides technical guidance and oversight for the Standard Desktop and Mobile Device Configuration for a variety of end-points to include Windows and non-Windows Operating systems, as well as the synchronization between traditional and mobile computing end-points with those configurations found in DLA's NIPRNet and SIPRNet Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment. Knowledge/providing guidance on management applications (e.g. Microsoft's System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Active Directory (AD), TANIUM, McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator, Tenable Security Center, VMWare Workspace One, DISA Purebred, Dell Wyse Device Manager, StayLinked, etc…) which includes the design, implementation, standardization, upgrade and sustainment, as well as cloud integration. Creates software packages, group policy development, automated scripting efforts, hardware and software testing, as well as scheduling and coordination associated with software distributions with end users and enterprise service delivery support providers. Develops and leads teams to provide technical guidance, analysis, advice, and trouble-shooting / problem resolution on a wide-range of operational problems involving enterprise IT services that impact enterprise operations. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed: 1. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternative, and to make recommendations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
