Duties

You will research, evaluate, install, configure, and troubleshoot all software, hardware, peripherals, and equipment necessary to meet integrated systems objectives. You will troubleshoot networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational problems.. You will implement information security and information assurance policies including firewalls, access control, data base upgrades, and Host Based Security System (HBSS) maintenance. You will support the development, acquisition, and deployment of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and enhancements.. You will consult with customers to refine requirements and to translate functional requirements into design specifications. You will prepare and present reports.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position work role Database Administrator and System Administrator proficiency level Intermediate. Must obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.

Qualifications

You must have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to the four competencies above your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Conducting systems and applications analysis to recommend solutions to best meet business requirements while applying cost-benefit analysis methods; 2) Applying software design concepts for integrating and optimizing components to implement new systems or enhancements of operational Technology (OT) Systems, and OT Management framework software; 3) Using Structured Query Language (SQL), data base design principles, computing architectures, Operating Systems, Relational Data Base Management Systems (RDBMS), and web technologies; AND 4) Providing technical oversight, leadership, and guidance for OT Systems Infrastructure through clear and concise written and oral communication in order to meet customer expectations.
