This position will be assigned to the Lackland Outdoor Recreation.
This is a regular part-time category position with guaranteed 20 hours per week, but may work up to 40hrs/week. Employees appointed to regular category positions are eligible for benefits.
Duties
Provides customer information and referrals. Checks customer eligibility. Operates cash register, collects cash receipts, register tapes, credit card receipts and other supporting documentation. Prepares cashier reports reconciles and ensures proper accounting for controlled forms and informs management of irregularities. Prepares deposits and ensures daily deposit to the central cashier. Signs up customers for classes, trips and programs. Responsible for planning and leading certain Outdoor Recreation Trips and Programs. Required to drive to trip locations. Identifies local natural resources, equipment resources, and program providers in the local area which can be used to support outdoor recreation programs. Demonstrates safety and conservation techniques for various programs and equipment. Processes facility and equipment reservations. Responsible for making sure all equipment is in working order prior to rental or storage. Must be able to demonstrate proper use of equipment when checking it out to customers. Responsible for receiving all- returned equipment, cleaning it and placing it in the proper storage area. Takes care of RV Storage area and makes sure all paperwork is processed with payments. Performs interior and exterior facility maintenance task as required. Keeps facility in clean and organized fashion. Responsible for some minor equipment maintenance such as changing oil and filters, changing tires and lights, repairing holes in tents and general upkeep of equipment. Will be required to learn various computer programs in order to complete daily paperwork and process payments and reservations. Sells retail items. Positively interacts with all customers and resolves customer complaints and problems as empowered. Secures area at end of shift. Assists in conducting special and base wide programs such as 4th of July celebrations, Airshows, and other programmed events. Establishes schedules of events as well as the rules and regulations to be observed. Other duties as assigned. Works under the supervision of the Outdoor Recreation Director.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing drug use. Must have valid driver's license.

Qualifying Experience:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities and equipment.
2. Knowledge in a recreation program activity which is involved recreation work in the area of specialty in which the position is assigned.
3. Ability to handle cash.
