You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT) in the Information Technology Division of NAV FAC ENG AND EXPEDITIONARY WARFARE CTR.

Duties

You will analyze metrics to identify strengths and weaknesses in the information technology (IT) business environment. You will review information technology (IT) customer complaints to determine the required corrective action. You will analyze information technology (IT) systems malfunctions to implement corrective actions. You will manage an information technology (IT) investment portfolio to ensure that investments are aligned to accomplish the organizations mission and goals.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Examples of :1) Applying understanding of complex Information Technology (IT) standards and technologies to provide technical advisory services to customers based on needs assessment and in accordance with an organization's standards, policies, regulations, and contract specifications; 2) Developing Standard Operating Procedures for IT processes using industry standards; 3) Performing cost-benefit analysis on current and proposed IT solutions to derive cost effectiveness and return on investment of proposed solutions; 4) Coordinating resolution of reported problems with other IT specialists and contractors; and 5) Developing local IT policies, regulations, and guidance to meet an organizations customer needs. Education

Applicants for the GS-09 level, that do not meet the specialized experience above may qualify with the following education:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.

OR

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.

NOTE: The education listed above must be a degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management, or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or network
