About the Position: Incumbent serves as Chief, Academic Operations for courses on leadership, management and decision making. Work under the direction of the Director, Department of Academic Support - Distributed Learning (DAS-DL) with the mission of managing educational programs designed to educate, train, and develop members of the Army Civilian Corps in support of the Army mission.
Duties
As the Chief of Academic Operations, you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list:
Serve as lead for all accreditation efforts for the program, e.g. TRADOC, IACET/ANSI.
Serve as lead for the creation, approval, and maintenance of all AMSC TRAS documents.
Supervise the administrative and support staff of Academics, e.g., Office of the Registrar, Education Technicians, Faculty Development SME.
Serve as a Training Strategy and Plans Analyst and as the primary integrator and coordinator of Individual training and education.
Exercise a thorough knowledge of program management techniques and administrative requirements of professional training practices, current leadership, and management best practices.
Maintain effective communication with a variety of individuals whose professional endeavors relate directly to the College’s mission.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance throughout the duration of employment.
- Temporary Duty (TDY), may be required up to 15% of the time.
- May be required to complete a one year Supervisory probationary period, if not previously completed.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
