You will serve as a MANAGEMENT ANALYST in the Waterfront Operations Department of SUPERVISOR OF SHIPBUILDING, CONVERSION AND REPAIR (SUPSHIP), Newport News. You can learn more about SUPSHIP at https://www.navsea.navy.mil/Home/SUPSHIP/ The duty station is Newport News, VA.
Duties
At the GS-7 Level you will perform developmental duties, as assigned. At the GS-9 Full Performance Level you will perform the duties below.
You will serve as the Assistant Waterfront Operations Department Representative for Records Liaison, Office Security Coordinator, Seating Coordinator and Continuity of Operations Representative.
You will perform Technical Support Management work and flow support.
You will collect and analyze departmental budget information, collect data and information to support reports and data calls.
You will assist with coordination of Project Assessment briefings.
You will assist with Command level Continuous Process Improvement (CPI).
You will use Lean Six Sigma methodologies to define, measure, analyze, improve, and control problems and processes.
You will assist the Branch Head in implementing High Velocity Learning.
Requirements

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector using knowledge of management principles, organizational theory, and techniques of analysis and evaluation to perform the following:
1) Collecting data for analysis by senior personnel
2) Applying fact-finding and work measurement techniques to support senior personnel in conducting studies
3) Performing support work to assist technical, operational, and/or financial managers in creating reports or responding to data calls.
4) Communicating effectively orally and in writing

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
One full year of graduate level education. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.

A Bachelors Degree with Superior Academic Achievement

A combination of education and specialized experience
