About the Position: This is a Term position scheduled to last 13 months. A term position may be extended to a maximum of eight years depending upon the needs of management.
Duties
Conduct qualitative studies to develop concepts and capabilities, identify experimentation learning objectives and demands, and support strategic military engagement.
Lead staff studies and analyses for issue resolution to operational problems and deficiencies.
Advice on policies and procedures governing operational and functional military doctrine, issues, and operations.
Conduct quality assurance reviews of concept development plans.
Develop and present briefings concerning operational studies and concepts.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Unplanned/unscheduled overtime may be required.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) travel may be required up to 25% of the time (may include overseas travel).
- Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Participating in operational strategy development for an organization; 2) assisting with writing or revising organizational policy, guidance or procedures; and 3) communicating goals, objectives, or implementation progress of new concepts/plans of action. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-12).
Education
Some Federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
