The primary purpose of this position is to provide executive administrative support. The incumbent is responsible for the administrative management of executive correspondence, identifying administrative processes or procedural changes, and for developing improved procedures for implementation throughout the organization.
Duties
Position Duties
DUTY 1: Manages the administration of all executive correspondence for approval, situational awareness, and/or signature. Ensures appropriate content, format, grammar, and construction according to leadership priorities and Air Force guidance.
DUTY 2: Uses multiple office automation software capabilities to produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formats, such as graphics or tables within text, editing, reformatting electronic drafts, and updating or revising existing databases or spreadsheets. Uses various computer programs unique to mission support.
DUTY 3: Serves as the subject matter expert for administrative support programs. Ensures compliance with instructions, laws, policies, and Director's directives.
DUTY 4: Performs other administrative work in support of the office/Squadron. Plans and organizes administrative support services, functions, and activities as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Miscellaneous Clerk and Assistant Series,0303, Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes applying correct knowledge of grammar, basic arithmetic calculations and formatting to accurately prepare and edit written correspondence and reports; managing data systems to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity of organizational programs; and applying knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. Due to the 120 day rosters, applicants within 120 days of completion of the TIG requirement are encouraged to apply

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of management methods and organization practices and techniques. Knowledge of automated data
processing software programs and capabilities used to accomplish task. Ability to review, verify, and correlate data,
and locate, assemble and compose information for non-routine reports, inquiries and non-technical correspondence.
Knowledge of wing, group, and Squadron command management framework and organizational relationships, and an
understanding of its missions and organizational interrelationships. Knowledge of administrative and clerical functions and
how they relate to substantive programs. Knowledge of policies, practices, and personnel contacts used to accomplish
tasks.
Knowledge of commonly used methods, practices, procedures, directives, policies, and processes to formulate,
justify, and execute assigned duties in support of the mission, structure, goals, work processes, and programs of
assigned activities/organizations.
In-depth knowledge of format and clerical procedures to review a wide variety of materials from varied sources.
Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to be able to accurately prepare and
edit written correspondence and reports. Skill in gathering, assembling, and reviewing source of factual information
such as that found in reports, timekeeping records, work reports, briefings, and SharePoint sites.
Skill in typing. Qualified typist is required. Knowledge of software programs to produce a wide range of
correspondence requiring use of advanced software functions to enhance productivity or meet needs of complex
formats such as graphics or tables within text to edit and reformat electronic drafts, and to update and revise existing
databases or spreadsheets.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Skill in the ability to answer vague and
ambiguous questions, requests, or complaints with detailed and specific explanations. Ability to plan and organize
work to meet established deadlines.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
