The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as an Administrative Support Specialist in performing a wide range of duties required to oversee and advise management on the practical and technical aspects of Division-wide administrative, safety, disaster preparedness, and supply support management processes for the Simulators Division.
Duties
Duty 1: Serves as the branch administrative support specialist for the assigned branch and section leader(s). Focuses on tasks, prepares a wide variety of recurring and nonrecurring correspondences, reports, and other documents from information obtained from the staff, files, and other sources.
Duty 2: Serves as the unit administrative support specialist for all government related responsibilities. Serves as the ATAAPS Customer Service Representative (CSR), Timekeeper, Defense Civilian Payroll System (DCPS) and Forms & Account Management Service (FAMS) Monitor.
Duty 3: Performs other administrative work in support of the office/organization including meeting support, special event planning, and program reviews. Independently creates meeting minutes and follows-up on action items/commitments made during meetings and conferences by Division leadership and staff members.
Duty 4: Provides Administrative and Records Management. Develops, establishes, updates, and maintains office procedures and standard processes, including electronic records management and document libraries ensuring effective and efficient operation of the office.
Duty 5: Serves as the primary unit Activity Distribution Office (ADO) and Defense Travel System (DTS) Representative. Reviews and processes incoming and outgoing mail, correspondence, publications, regulations and directives associated.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have or will have within 120 days of the closing of this announcement, at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next to lower grade NK-02 (GS-07) or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must include knowledge of organization, moderate to complex issues, program goals, missions, functions, administrative operations. Knowledge of various software and equipment sufficient to produce a variety of correspondence such as letters and other documents. Skill in applying a comprehensive range of staff concepts, objectives, policies, management/organizational techniques, and military command. Ability to gather and analyze facts of operating programs. Routinely composes non-technical correspondence, such as office procedures, requests for information concerning the organization's programs. Manages and coordinates activities of the staff ensuring proper development, implementation and execution of policy and programs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of organization, major issues, program goals, missions, functions, administrative operations of the organization, laws, regulations, policies, and precedents which affect the organizations programs and relate to support resources.
2. Knowledge of a comprehensive range of staff concepts, objectives, policies, management and organizational techniques, and military command.
3. Knowledge of support program operations throughout the organization in order to conduct studies, analyze findings, and make recommendations on substantive operating programs. Skill in applying analytical, evaluative, and investigative methods and techniques to issues concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of administrative and support program operations.
4. Ability to prepare project and staff reports and deliver briefings, while effectively communicating both verbally and in writing.
5. Ability to plan, organize and adjust work operations to meet mission objectives utilizing available resources.
6. Ability to interface with a wide range of personnel with tact, courtesy, diplomacy, and professionalism.
7. Knowledge of Division functions, activities, policies and initiatives.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
