Duties

This position is located under the Office of Public and Government Affairs, Information Privacy and Governance Division in Washington, District of Columbia.

Qualifications

To qualify for 12, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-11. Additional Conditions of Employment: GS-12 - You qualify if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal, State, or Local government or equivalent public or private sector experience, performing the following duties: Reviewing requests for information utilizing the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and the Privacy Act (PA); Researching U.S. Codes, directives, regulations, and judicial decisions applicable to Freedom of Information and Privacy, to ensure compliance; Screening FOIA material prior to release to ensure documents are releasable and do not conflict with exemptions of the FOIA and PA; Consulting with internal and external entities to obtain information and drafting replies to information requests; Maintaining records and preparing Privacy Impact Assessments and Systems of Records Notices. Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
