You will serve as a PROTOCOL SPECIALIST in the U.S. FLEET FORCES COMMAND of COMMANDER US FLEET FORCES COMMAND.
Duties
You will serve as the Senior Protocol Specialist responsible for planning, directing, controlling, implementing, and executing required support for the Commander, Deputy Commander, and Chief of Staff.
You will propose Courses of Action (CORs) to Senior Leadership and the Chief of Protocol in support of high-level events.
You will make recommendations regarding planning, establishing, directing, and implementing command-wide policy for conferences, distinguished domestic and foreign visitors, and protocol for ceremonies, awards, retirements, and changes in command. \
You will develop and administer program planning and procedures and implement regulations to provide for a comprehensive execution of command-wide protocol policy.
You will provide protocol support to both the military leadership and civilian executives of the command and other DoD agencies on all matters relating to special events.
You will serve as an advisor and consultant to the Command on protocol policies and procedures in the absence of the Chief of Protocol, to ensure the objectives of the commander are met.
You will monitor operations and ensure that protocol services and activities are efficiently maintained, operated and controlled to all USFFC Flags and members of the Senior Executive Service.
You will coordinate with the Commander, Deputy Commander, Vice Commander, Executive director, and other Senior Leaders through direct in-progress review meetings.
You will conduct cost comparison/benefits studies of current or projected programs to measure program performance.
You will receive, evaluate, and negotiate with customers on requests for changes in services not within the existing scope of the work.
You will provide guidance on policies and procedures to ensure the attainment of established objectives of the office; to include addressing a broad range of interests and needs of the Command.
You will interpret policies and procedures outlined by DoD, DON, and USFFC guidelines to ensure proper reception, orientation and on-going protocol assistance.
You will analyze projected costs of each event and compare actual costs to projections.
You will act as escort officer guiding distinguish visitors on tours to various Navy/military platforms, facilities, installations, and industrial areas. Climbing of office stairs and steep ladders on board ships, submarines and aircraft is required.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS - 12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience with USFFC HQ and Department of the Navy structure, mission, goals and protocols sufficient to assist in the administration of the USFFC HQ Protocol Program.
Experience independently organizing and following through on procedures and details required to successfully coordinate high level protocol support for distinguished visitors.
Experience developing information and material to be disseminated through a wide range of oral and written communications principles, practices, techniques, analytical methods and inter-personal relations practices.
Experience providing a thorough knowledge of the customs and regulations dealing with domestic and foreign diplomatic formality, precedence and etiquette for high echelon military and civilian officials.
Experience ensuring adherence to and use of regulations and instructions governing the use of Official Representation Funds.
Experience with protocol subtleties associate with international engagements; to include sensitive cultural practices and procedures involved with traditional and formal diplomatic customs, courtesies, and etiquette.
Experience with the regulations concerning Official Representation Funds (ORF) to ensure proper use and requisite recording of expenditures.
Experience analyzing and evaluating the protocol needs of USFFC HQ to in order to advise on new approaches to meet evolving objectives.
This position may require after hours and weekends from normal duty schedule.
