About the Position: This position is located at U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, AFSBn-Fort Cavazos, Modernization Displacement and Repair Site Division, Fort Cavazos, Texas. Duties

Ensure loaded dimensions of outbound trucks and tractor-trailer combinations are noted on Commercial Bills of Lading (CBL). Verify invoice charges for commercial prepaid shipments. Screen incoming calls or correspondence and route to the appropriate personnel. Prepare general office forms and correspondence pertaining to and/or related to movement freight and equipment..

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This is a Temporary position intended to last {insert # months}. A temporary position may be extended to a maximum of three years and may be terminated at any time during the duration of the appointment, depending upon the needs of management.

Qualifications

Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed NTE:30-SEP-2025 by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition. Temporary Appointment NTE - Position may be filled as a temporary appointment NTE: 30-SEP-2025. Temporary appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three (3) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a temporary appointment will be appointed/converted into a temporary appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position. When a current Army employee applies to a JOA opened for a temporary or term appointment, the action will be a conversion to a temporary or term appointment. Current Department of Army Civilian Employees Applying on Time-Limited Assignments In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes preparing documents for shipment of freight, personal property, and/or hazardous/dangerous material. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service (Clerical/Technical)Manages ResourcesTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-05 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non temporary competitive appointment.
