You will serve as a PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Security Division, Command Operations Branch of NAVSUP WEAPON SYSTEMS SUPPORT.

Duties

You will review and implement security instructions as they relate to Personnel, Information, Industrial and Anti-terrorism/Force Protection Security to ensure security compliance. You will review, analyze and resolve problems using security concepts, principles and practices. You will plan and implement protective methods and security procedures using security equipment, devices and databases. You will coordinate reports and adjudicate security violations for potential security compromises of classified information. You will manage and establish security awareness and education programs to ensure proper security information dissemination. You will interpret new or existing security instructions and review/implement and/or rewrite procedures pertaining to the work of the security department.

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Security Specialist experience performing analytical, planning, advisory, operational, or evaluative work that has as its principal purpose in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, espionage, sabotage, or loss equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following: 1) Reviewing and implementing security instructions as they relate to Physical and Anti-terrorism/Force Protection Security to ensure security compliance; 2) Reviewing, analyzing and resolving problems using security concepts, principles and practices; 3) Planning and implementing protective methods and security procedures using security equipment, devices and databases; 4) Coordinating reports and adjudicating security violations for potential security compromises of classified information; 5) Managing an established security awareness and education program to ensure proper security information dissemination; 6) Interpreting new or existing security instructions and review/implement and/or rewrite procedures pertaining to the work of the security department.
