You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in the Assistant Commander for Sustainment Group (V4), FMS Sustainment Department (V451000) of NAVAL AIR SYSTEM COMMAND HQ-OSF. This announcement uses the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.

Duties

You will plan, manage, coordinate and implement full life cycle integrated logistics support of the weapon systems. You will have an understanding of basic DoD Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) elements, concepts for fielding systems, and protocols in establishing sustainment of weapons systems. You will establish the schedule for each ILS element, and direct/coordinate all logistics actions, including headquarters/field activities to assure integration of the foreign requirements into Command plans and production schedules.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or NH-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Communicating complex technical requirements in written, visual and oral presentation. Working cohesively and harmoniously within a multi-functional Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment. Performing as a mid-level analyst in support of USG acquisition programs is highly desired. Managing technical requirements and program risk will contribute to success.
