About the Position: Fort McCoy is located in west-central Wisconsin, midway between Chicago and Minneapolis, just off Interstates 90 & 94. Duties

Compile narrative and statistical information for managers. Provide recommendations to Senior Management on budget related issues. Interpret guidance and advise management and budget staff on legislative, policy, regulatory and Higher headquarters guidance and perceived implications. Compile written reports to present to senior leaders and mid-level management. Compile data and prepare presentations for use in briefings. Monitor execution of funds in comparison with planned execution; make recommendations for funding adjustments as required. Manage allotment to ensure funds are available to support planned programs. Analyze budget data to determine availability and correct type of funding to support budgetary requirements. Collect, review, validate, and analyze historical budget and program data to compile future budget requests. Ensure costs are accurately reported in various financial management systems.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position. Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army requirements of this certification program within 24 months of appointment.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
