You will serve as an Administrative Support Specialist for the Small Business Administration (SBA), US Small Business Administration, Processing and Disbursement Center - PDC in Fort Worth, Texas. The primary function of the position is to assist the Administrative Officer (AO) ensuring necessary internal support functions are accomplished; that necessary improvements are implemented; and that SBA and OCA administrative policies and procedures are followed.
Duties
As an Administrative Support Specialist at the GS-0301-9, some of your typical work assignments may include:
Assist the AO and the Deputy AO in assessing the effectiveness of all the administrative functions performed in the department e.g., budget, procurement, space and lease acquisition, telecommunications, payroll, travel, supply, accountable property, warehouse management, and collateral cashier operations.
Implement and monitor policies and procedures on the acquisition of supplies and services in the Centers.
Work with the AO or the Deputy in formulating annual acquisition plan and formulating quarterly budgets.
Ensure that routine and emergency maintenance of leased facilities is performed. Prepare letters to GSA, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and vendors regarding space needs and problems, and coordinate solutions with landlord as directed by the AO and/or GSA.

THIS POSITION IS LOCATED AT THE FORT WORTH OFFICE.
This is a Permanent position, which is a Competitive service status position with a Full-time work schedule.
Mandatory Overtime: In order to respond quickly and efficiently to disaster survivors, substantial compensated overtime hours may be required during heightened disaster activities.

Experience:

GS-09: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector:
Develop written processes and procedures which improves operational efficiency.
Prepare written analytical reports identifying strengths and weaknesses of an administrative operation.
Research administrative regulations and guidelines and train coworkers on proper procedures.

Education

GS-09: Successful completion master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
Combination of Experience and Education:
GS-09: Combination of education and experience as specified above. For example, an applicant who has 1.0 full year of Masters level education (i.e. 50% of education required) and 6 months of creditable specialized experience (i.e. 50% of the required experience) would equal 100% of the required experience for the position.
