This position is located at the Milton E. Long Library which is apart of Fort Moore Family & Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR). Duties

Performs work that requires full professional knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of librarianship to select, organize, preserve, access, manage, and disseminate information. Associated with public/patron services including services for children and/or teens, technical services, and automation services. Provides all members of the Military Community with reference/research using text and online searching principles. Reader's advisory/selective dissemination of information, circulation, programming and library instruction, marketing/public relations, interlibrary loans, and an up-to-date web presence. Performs technical services functions including acquisitions, procurement, cataloging/classification, physical processing, and accountability of materials. Performs automation services including ILS maintenance, network operations, and workstation and Internet issues. Develops and implements long-range automation plans for the library within the parameters defined by the supervisory librarian. Monitors fund allocations within assigned department(s).Supervises assigned staff. Assists chief librarian in overall management of the library.

Qualifications

Assumptions will not be made regarding your experience and the duties performed.** Minimum Qualifications: A master's degree in library science, information services, or information management from an accredited college or university. Additionally, one (1) year of progressively responsible work experience is desired which showcases the ability to perform patron/public services, technical services, and/or library automation service functions. Must be familiar with office software products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Must have the ability to communicate orally and in writing. Highly Preferred Criteria: Do you possess TWO years' experience, selection, acquisition, disposition of library materials? Do you possess Two years' experience original and copy cataloging library materials? ***Those applicants that meet the highly preferred criteria will be referred to management first. If no selection is made from the highly preferred applicants, applicants that meet the minimum qualifications will be sent to management. ***
