DCSA's Industrial Security Directorate is seeking an Industrial Security Specialist. In this role you will serve as a Traditional Reviewer on the Command Cybersecurity Readiness Inspection Team conducting security assessments utilizing the Traditional Security, Security Technical Implementation Guide. Duties
As a INDUSTRIAL SECURITY SPECIALIST you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Perform assessments/inspections/reviews at contractor facilities in accordance with established DoD policies that include industrial security procedures, systems, standards, and regulations governing the safeguarding of classified information in facilities utilized by contractors functioning in the National Industrial Security Program.
- Perform technical (evaluation of technology) and non-technical (evaluation of people and operations) risk and vulnerability assessments of the Traditional Security technology area.
- Identify systemic security issues based on the analysis of vulnerability and configuration data.
- Review authorization and assurance documents to confirm that the level of risk is within acceptable.
- Prepare audit reports that identify technical and procedural findings, and provide recommended remediation strategies/solutions.

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.
You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG-12 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility.
Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience.
Specialized experience for this position includes: Skill using the Traditional Security, Security Technical Implementation Guides; skill in performing impact/risk assessments as part of a security team; ability to prepare audit reports that identify technical and procedural findings; knowledge of risk management processes (e.g., methods for assessing and mitigating risk); knowledge of the laws, regulations, and guidelines related to securing personnel, facilities, and information, including the requirements for handling, transporting, and protecting classified information and proper reporting of security incidents.
Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies:
1. Risk Management - Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools used for risk assessment and mitigation, including assessment of failures and their consequences.

3. Physical Security - Applies requirements for designing, accrediting, equipping, and securing government and contractor facilities to guard against unauthorized access. Develops and enforces access control regulations and procedures.

Vulnerabilities Assessment and Management - Conducts assessments on threats, hazards and vulnerabilities, determines the level of risk against missions, personnel, facilities, assets and resources. Develops and recommends appropriate mitigation countermeasures in operational and non-operational situations.
5. Communications - Communicate (i.e., written and oral) rights, responsibilities, management directives, policies, and/or regulations to employees, supervisors, and/or other pertinent individuals.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
