The primary purpose of this position is to perform administrative duties in support of the Division. The position is located in a multi-layered organization, with subordinate groups which differ from each other in terms of subject matter, functions, relationships with other organizations, and administrative requirements.
Duties
Works with functional experts and higher-grade employees/supervisor on a variety of issues to ensure products reflect a fully staffed and coordinated position.
Uses multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formats, such as updating or revising existing databases or editing complicated reports.
Performs administrative office support functions and maintains cooperative working relationships with coworkers, related functions, customers, and operating officials.
Provides input to internal financial/funding requirements based on anticipated workload and capability needs.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NK-01, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience in work processes and procedures of the administrative fields and the knowledge of extensive rules, procedures, and operations of clerical assignments such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, graphs, presentations, brochures and mass produced advertising.
NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.

EDUCATION: I have completed four (4) years above high school level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Broad working knowledge of organization, programs, missions and functions of logistics, along with knowledge of effective staff work techniques and a high degree of organization to manage several activities/projects simultaneously. Duties require collecting information and recommending action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines.
Ability to maintain good working relations including meeting and dealing with customers using a high degree of tact and diplomacy.
Knowledge of general office administrative and clerical procedures. Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to be able to accurately prepare and edit written correspondence and reports. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs.
Ability to use computer/software to enter, track, maintain, and retrieve data. Ability to locate, assemble, and compose/compile information for routine compile reports, product charts and graphs or monitor project status. Work requires considerable interpersonal skills in gathering information from a variety of sources to meet established deadlines.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
