As Director of FTA’s Budget Office, you will be responsible for leading a team that develops and executes FTA’s multi-billion-dollar budget, which support thousands of public transit agencies across the country.

Qualifications
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications for the grade at which you are requesting consideration.To qualify for the Grade 15, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equal or equivalent to the GS-14, it must include:
Developing and monitoring a complex budget for a large organization with multiple sources of funding.
Devising new methods, techniques, process, and use of technology to improve the oversight and management of a budget.
Analyzing and interpreting complex budget policy.
Presenting complex financial information to executive leadership.
Leading and developing a diverse team responsible for budget administration activities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Budget Administration – Knowledge of the principles and practices of budget administration and analysis; including preparing, justifying, reporting on, and executing the budget, financial forecasting, and the relationships among program, budget, accounting and reporting systems.
Leadership – influences, motivates, and challenges others; adapts leadership style to a variety of situations.
Problem Solving – Ability to identify problems; determine accuracy and relevance of information in support of analysis and problem solving; use sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives and make recommendations.
