This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for directly working with a group of subject matter experts on all issues regarding Joint Staff J35 roles, responsibilities, processes, and tools associated with the sourcing, deployment tracking, employment, redeployment tracking and reconstitution/regenerations of emergent, and rotational forces to meet Combatant Commander's operational requirements.
Duties
As a LEAD FORCE MANAGEMENT ANALYST at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Coordinating work activities within the FMO Branch with management and oversight regarding analysis of joint operational, adaptive, and crises action planning matters that affect operational plans, contingency operations, exercises, civil and humanitarian support.
Develops and presents analytical assessments on the planning and execution of joint forces and effects upon strategic, crisis, and operational planning.
Leads the team in identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow, skill level, and/or occupational specialization.
Provides training or arranges for training of team members in methods and techniques of team building.
Prepares reports and maintains records of work accomplishments and administrative information, as required, and coordinates the preparation, presentation and communication of work related information to the supervisor.
Researches, learns and applies a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to identify, assess, analyze and improve team effectiveness, efficiency and work products.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
Shaping the use of joint forces worldwide to ensure mission objectives through the application and understanding of national security policy and the interrelationships among the National Security Strategy, National Military Strategy, Global Force Management, and DoD policy guidance;
Resolving issues and operations to ensure results reflect current environment to assess the required needs to assigned projects;
Performing analyses to assess and improve mission effectiveness;
Reviewing current transportation rules, procedures, and operations governing requirements for domestic and foreign transportation processes, utilized for the movement of forces, in transit visibility, deployment and redeployment;
Recommending processes and information flow associated with the planning and execution of military forces.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
