This position is part of the Interior Business Center (IBC), Financial Management Directorate (FMD), IBC FMD Project Management Office. The incumbent will be responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing a project supported in the portfolio capability of IBC's PMO.
Duties
Manage, lead, or administer project resources, including utilization of federal and/or contract staff to execute project plans and ensure adherence to deadlines.
Determine appropriate products or services with clients or customers to define project scope, requirements, and deliverables. Develop, modify, and implement project plans to meet project objectives.
Implement and maintain quality assurance processes; make improvements, solve problems, and take corrective action when problems arise.
Prepare presentations and conduct briefings on all aspects of a project; participate in phase, milestone, and final project reviews; identify project documentation requirements or procedures; and develop and implement product release plans.
Perform roles often on multiple projects at a time; subject to the complexity and number of projects serviced under the Project Management Office (PMO) portfolio.
Qualifications
At the GS-14level, you must meet the following qualification:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience for this position include Expert experience with project management skills to plan, manage, and execute large-scale federal, state, or corporate projects and budgets with autonomy and independently recommend solutions; extensive experience providing oversight of all stages of the project life cycle to ensure mitigate or prevent schedule, cost, and quality slippage; expert experience managing communications, coordinating, and briefing internal and external stakeholders, ranging across multiple offices and leadership levels; and skill in interpersonal and written communications to successfully and persuasively communicate objectives and project goals; experience mentoring junior project managers or team members.

TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
