You will serve as an Operations Manager for the Small Business Administration (SBA), Office of Capital Access (OCA), Damage Verification Center (DVC) in Herndon, Virginia. You will plan, direct, manage, coordinate and evaluate the DVC damage assessment and loss verification functions within the Continental United States (CONUS) and outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) and its territories .
Duties
As a Supervisory Operations Specialist at the GS-0301-14, some of your typical work assignments may include:
Supervises all field operations carrying out and supporting the DVC loss verification functions in order to support the SBA disaster loan program.
Ensures appropriate staff and resources are allocated to accomplish the mission.
Actively involve in the day -to-day operations involving the estimation of quantity of materials and costs for constructing or repairing homes and business.
Develops and implements strategies to address a fluctuating workload and obtaining feedback from a variety of sources while sustaining good working relationships by preserving effective lines of communication with employees and SBA officials at all levels.
Oversees development and implementation of training content and requirements, and ensures that all DVC employees receive needed training.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
This is a Permanent appointment, competitive service position with a full-time work schedule.
If required to travel to a disaster site, you may encounter hazardous working and/or living conditions, for example, no water or electricity and/or minimal lodging facilities.
Mandatory Overtime: In order to respond quickly and efficiently to disaster survivors, substantial compensated overtime hours may be required heighten Disaster Activities.

Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a Government travel credit card.
- Favorable background investigation and credit check are required.
- You may be required to complete a one-year probationary period for non-supervisors if you fail to complete the one-year supervisory probationary period.
- A one-year supervisory probationary period may be required.
- This is not a bargaining unit position.
Qualifications
Experience:
To receive credit, you must indicate the month and year as well as the average hours worked per week for each employer. You must address the specific specialized experience required for each grade level of this position on your resume or application or you will be rated "Ineligible" for that grade level.
GS-14: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector:
Planning and leading or supervising the day-to-day operations of an organization to meet program goals, involving the estimating of quantity of materials and costs for constructing or repairing homes and businesses;
Participating in the development of organizational objectives and operating procedures;
Communicating orally, or representing the organization, in meetings with senior management or high-level officials; and
Analyzing and making recommendations or decisions on workload distribution and staffing requirements.
