About the Position: Serves as the Plans and Readiness Specialist in the Human Resource Operations Branch (HROB),Headquarters, U.S. Army Medical Command.

Duties

Identifies and communicates to subordinate HR and others the intent, expected requirements and outcomes to be achieved. Manages, tracks, and monitors all tasking requirements and ensures MEDCOM G-1 meets all required suspense dates. Utilizes systems to compile data and prepare data spreadsheets and briefing charts. Utilizes the SIPRNET to access classified data and maintains classified documents in the safe IAWArmy/MEDCOM policies and procedures. Collaborates professionally across operational and generational forces, internal and external AMEDD proponents, and Army Medicine Stakeholders to organize and participate in teams and working groups.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel may periodically be required.
  • May be required to work extended hours during National Emergency, Command Mission Priorities, and Military Operations or Exercises.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds of printed material and books.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) providing input for the development of plans and operating procedures; 2) maintaining human resource and operational databases; 3) assisting with contingency plans; AND 4) knowledge of medical processes, policies, and procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Planning and EvaluatingTechnical CompetenceWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
