Duties
This position serves as a Financial Management Specialist with responsibility for recommending policy development, planning, administering, and evaluating complex and critical administrative operations and programs of Coast Guard-wide Financial Management to ensure overall effectiveness and efficiency of programs, operations, organizations, and agency functions.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Qualifications
To qualify for the GS-13: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lowest grade level (GS-12 level) in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Specialized experience includes experience that involved extensive operational experience in positions.

Knowledge of financial data system and management operations; AND
Knowledge of budget and financial management practices, procedures, regulations and precedents, policies, and guides; AND
Ability to communicate effectively on accounting, budgeting and fiscal management matters; AND
Ability to communicate in writing.

Ability to interpret and develop fundamentally sound financial management, accounting and internal control policies, AND
Ability to make recommendations or adjustments to program specifications in order to assure proper accomplishment of financial goals; AND
Ability to communicate effectively on accounting, budgeting and fiscal management matters with an array of personnel; AND
Ability to proficiently communicate in writing through policies and directives; AND
Planning and scheduling work of team member.
