This position is located in the Division of Resolutions and Receiverships of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The FDIC is an independent agency created by Congress to maintain stability and public confidence in the nation's financial system. FDIC employees work to insure deposits at FDIC insured institutions examine and supervise financial institutions for safety, soundness, and consumer protection.
Duties
Analyzes, develops, recommends, and implements guidelines, processes, or procedures related to emerging complex financial institution budget and cost management issues; devises new approaches; and provides expert knowledge in support of agency initiatives.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the 14 grade level or above in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as one year of experience, in all of the following areas: 1) researching, reviewing, analyzing, and reporting on financial and budget transactions; 2) Monitoring budget expenses related to staffing and resource management operations; and 3) interpretation of policy, procedures, goals, objectives, and delegated authority to the Division and/or to the Corporation.
