About the Position: Serves as a training specialist and project officer/project lead or team member with responsibility for evaluating, designing and developing instructional materials in support of the Security Forces Assistance (SFA) Course.
Duties
Serve as a subject matter expert on Infantry, Armor, and Cavalry organizations, equipment, tactics doctrine, and training product development.
Provide training through small group instruction applying combination of advanced instructional methods.
Assist team leader and working group; responsible for synchronizing and linking training products with individual.
Monitor schedule team work and priorities, reviews work quality, develops solutions, and recommends changes to programs, policy and procedures as required.
Participates in front-end and ongoing analysis for new, improved, and displaced systems.
Conduct doctrine, organization, training, material, leadership and education, personnel and (DOTMLPF) analysis to resolve mitigate.
Providing analysis and recommendations on various one-of-a-kind and recurring projects/programs for Security Force Assistance course and related program.
Performs training development and management for training products, aids, devices, simulators, simulations (TADSS) which are used throughout the overall Army training programs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes applying, teaching, or instructing on Security Force Assistance as it relates to the training, organizations, equipment, tactics, and doctrine. Experience evaluating designing and developing instructional materials relating to the Security Forces Assistance (SFA) course. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09)

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Education or Training.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
