You will serve as a Physical Scientist in the Operations Department , N3 of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.
Duties
You will assist in the coordination of Command Duty Officer (CDO) manning, training and qualifications.
You will maintain situational awareness of NAVOCEANO activities involving ships, gliders, and aircraft survey platforms, and other exercises and operations.
You will monitor daily message traffic from the Detachments and ships.
You will generate Operations Brief slides, platform locators and naval messages.
You will schedule CDO boards.
You will perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
For GS:11 - In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience responding to Naval Messages by written communication in a clear, precise and detailed manner in order to persuade/influence/inform.
Experience operating within oceanographic survey procedures and as well as using survey equipment to collect environmental data.
Experience conducting both informal briefs/debriefs for various technical groups.
Experience working within Microsoft software suite software such as, but not limited to Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point.
Experience coordinating tasks and projects by prioritizing assignments based on requirements.
Experience adapting analytical skills to execute projects directed toward solving problems.

Basic Requirements:
- Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.
or
- Combination of education and experience -- education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
