About the Position: Serves as a military human resources advisor to the command and staff regarding multiple facets of military personnel management within the command located in Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Duties

Manages military personnel programs, which include, but are not limited to: Promotions; Military Awards; Military Evaluations; Military Personnel Actions; Rating Schemes; Leaves and Passes; Sponsorship Program; Reassignment Processing; etc. Provides authoritative interpretation and instructions on military laws, regulations, policies and procedures, and develops command policies and procedural guidance. Responsible for ensuring pay related documentation is reviewed and authorized prior to submitting to Finance and Accounting Officer (FAO). Ensures all subordinate users are fully trained and aware of the use of unique military personnel system solutions. Provide administrative oversight to ensure efficient/effective operations related to the Duty Pro Program and for the BN over management of the Duty Roster.

  • Temporary duty (travel) 10% of the time.
  • Must obtain and maintain valid drivers license.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing technical advice and guidance regarding a wide variety of military HR programs that include, but are not limited to strength management; personnel readiness; awards; In/Out processing; evaluations; separations; flags; personnel actions; for the military HR management program for Brooke Army Medical Center. Participates in the implementation and administration of a variety of staff assignments in various military HR program areas. Manages the command's Officer Evaluation Reporting (OER) and Noncommissioned Officer Evaluation Reporting (NCOER) Programs for Regular Army (RA) and U.S. Army Reserve (USAR). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administrative, Business Management, or Human Resource. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
