Duties

Utilize Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) equipment to design structural components and civil layouts. Make initial evaluation of the design problems and determine the optimum solution to the problem. Support site surveys to maintain configuration management of Satellite Communication (SATCOM) facilities. Discuss feasibility of items which are scheduled for manufacture with engineers. Assist in the training of new employees and provides technical guidance and review of technicians of a lower grade.

OR Education: I have successfully completed two years or (i.e., 27 semester hours) of graduate level education or a master's degree in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as engineering or industrial technology. OR Combination of Education and Specialized Experience: I have the specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and I have more than one year but less than the required education in B. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) Temporary Promotions or Details may be extended up to a maximum of 5 years and may be made permanent without further competition. Position may be filled as a Temporary Appointment not to exceed 1 year, if candidate is not a current permanent Army employee. Temporary Appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three years.
