You will serve as a ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT SPECIALIST of NAV SCHOOL EXPLOSIVE ORDNANCE DISPOSAL. Salary Range for GS-07 level: $49,025 - $63,733 Salary Range for GS-09 level: $59,966 - $77,955

Duties

You will have the ability to navigate a variety of government and military systems, applications, and databases to process command pay, personnel administration, fitness and performance evaluation reports, awards and qualification certificates. You will have the ability to work with a wide range of documents that may contain complex formats, graphics, or tables within text, to edit and reformat electronics drafts, and to update and documents. You will have the ability to organize and consolidate data to complete reports; make recommendations to the supervisor to include necessary action and appropriate coordination. You will have the ability to receive type, enter, maintain, and extract information and data into and from various computer systems to relay information and data effectively, efficiently, timely, and accurately. You will have the ability to communicate orally and in writing, evaluate, and summarize, to provide and/or request information relevant to tasks or assignments.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Analyzing and recommending solutions to problems in administrative procedures; 2) Applying a variety of clerical and administrative methods that support command missions; 3) Having knowledge of government and military systems, applications, and databases to process command pay, and personal administrative reports; and 4) Applying software applications to fulfill organizational requirements. GS-07 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing assistance analyzing solutions to problems in administrative procedures; 2) Using a variety of clerical and administrative methods that support command missions; 3) Understanding government and military systems, applications, and databases to process command pay, and personal administrative reports; and 4) Utilizing software applications to fulfill organizational requirements. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

GS-09
master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.B. or J.D., if related

GS-07
1 full year of graduate level education

or

superior academic achievement
