This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration. Equal Employment Opportunity Office, reporting to the Anti-Harassment/Disability Program Supervisor, providing technical expertise on disability employment matters pursuant to the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, Executive Order 13548, 29 CFR 1614.102, and 29 CFR 1630, supports the affirmative employment program principles and policies established by EEO laws, statutes, and policies..
Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
As an EQUAL EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST (Disability Program Manager), you will:
Serve as the Disability Program Manager (DPM), primarily responsible for the development, implementation, and operation of the Agency's Disability Program.
Prepare correspondence concerning employment opportunities for the disabled and respond to inquiries regarding building accessibility, reasonable accommodation/technical assistance raised in inquires or requests.
Participate in the development of the Agency's Affirmative Employment Program Plan (MD-715) and monitor/evaluate program implementation as applicable to employees with disabilities.
Assist in the counseling of people with disabilities about career opportunities and encourage them to participate in self-development and continuing education.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service that is directly related to the position to be filled and has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as:
Applying Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws, regulations, policies, procedures; AND
Coordinating and tracking documents and case records regarding accommodations; AND
Developing, implementing and managing an aspect of an organization's Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) program.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Applying Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws, regulations, policies, procedures; AND
Coordinating and tracking documents and case records regarding accommodations.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable (as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F):
For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.
For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11level for 52 weeks.
