You will serve as a Technician in the Mechanical & Materials Prototype & Sustainment Branch of the Airborne Electronics Attack Systems Division of the Spectrum Warfare Systems Dept of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.
NT-05 is equal to the GS-13/14.
The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $134,435).
Duties
You will serve as an Engineering Technician Lead in the Mechanical and Materials Sustainment Branch (WXSW) of the Airborne Electronic Attack Systems Division (AEASD).
You will make decisions and judgments relative to the needs of various projects.
You will lead a team of government and contractors that provides corrosion control and repair support for various complex Electronic Warfare, Surveillance, and Special Strategic Weapons Systems used throughout Air, Surface, and Undersea applications.
You will be required to perform advanced application techniques of various specialized coating systems.
You will exercise technical responsibility for planning and conducting various projects of broad scope and unconventional nature requiring the ability to interpret, select and extend pertinent precedents or guides.
You will exercise creativity and critical judgment in developing new methods and recommending solutions to unique/complex problems.
You will be responsible for monitoring project schedules and coordinating efforts between multiple personnel.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals).
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-4 (GS-11/12 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing, developing, and utilizing engineering methods or procedures to assess coating application theory and techniques to provide technical direction on corrosion control and repair for various complex Electronic Warfare, Surveillance, and Special Strategic Weapons Systems.
