About the Position: Position located at US Army Recruiting Command, Medical Recruiting Brigade, Fort Knox, KY.
Duties
Serves as the S-8 Budget Officer for the assigned Recruiting Brigade (BDE), for the US Army Recruiting Command (USAREC).
Plans, coordinates, consolidates, evaluates, controls, formulates, presents, and executes the prior, current, and budget year for the BDE and approximately 5-8 BNs.
Prepares and presents budgetary briefings to the Program Budget Advisory Committee (PBAC).
Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets priorities, and establishes schedules for work completion.
Directs BDE financial inspection program ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is designated as moderate risk involving Public Trust. Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation including a credit check to determine suitability for Federal employment and/or the position.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a FMC02-FM Certification Level 2.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) formulating, justifying and/or executing budgets; 2) carrying out the budget functions to ensure efficient execution of a budget; 3) developing funding levels, planning and/or reprogramming allocations; AND 4) resolving budgetary problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
