You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (NETWORK) in the SYSTEMS AND COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT of NAVAL ACADEMY.

Duties

You will develop, maintain, and operate the entire network information technology infrastructure required for academic education, professional training, and administrative support at the USNA. You will provide technical leadership for and advise IT management on prototyping, development, implementation, administration, etc. of all centralized and distributed IT network resources. You will manage all aspects of projects from inception to successful completion. You will supervise personnel engaged in performing network administration project work and operations and maintenance on USNA IT systems.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code (44), the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the gs-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Maintain hardware and software including all associated distribution, routing, and switching capabilities to include data center and distribution room infrastructures; 2) Manages the development of a formal written project plan that includes a plan of action and milestones, scope and effect statements, coordination and integration efforts; 3) Assign duties to best meet organizational needs while fostering employee career development; and 4) Ensures application of information security, information assurance, and administration policies, principles, and practices adhere to the network administration process. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
