You will serve as a SUPV INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN) for the NAVAL ACADEMY.
Duties
You will be responsible for the development of the information technology (IT) infrastructure and customer support for all of US Naval Academy's (USNA) academic educations, professional training, and administrative support programs.
You will be responsible for the development, implementation, and assimilation of short/mid/long range plans designed to shape a strong and effective resource profile while keeping pace with technological developments and changing needs of USNA.
You will provide oversight for established policies and standards, recommend either renew policies and standards or change to existing policies and standards.
You will be responsible for the constitution of various boards/committees/groups, structured project management focused on completeness and customer satisfaction, and the application of a strong, flexible life cycle management program.
You will conduct research on complex IT issues to identify manageable and affordable solutions.

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area Executive Cyber Leadership-901 Advanced level within 12 months of appointment.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Defining, establishing, managing, and/or administering all IT architectures and equipment; 2) Installing, configuring and integrating commercial and government software products; 3) Managing operating systems in an academic environment for computer systems and networks ensuring accurate implementation of levels and classes of cybersecurity; and 4) Applying knowledge of federal acquisition processes and systems to purchase IT related services and/or equipment for an academic institution.
