About the Position: This position is located at the US Army Aviation Center Army Training Command 128th Aviation BDE, Fort Eustis, VA. Fort Eustis, VA is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach.

Duties

Develop master schedules for each program of instruction of each course, detailing on a daily basis what is covered, and the sequencing of blocks for the extent of the course. Review pertinent Field Manuals, Soldier's Manuals, technical materials and other related documents pertaining to topics in the aviation systems maintenance curriculum. Monitor classroom presentations of instructors, comparing material presented and methods used against established program of instructions and lesson plans. Serve as a lead training specialist for Training Specialist (Aviation). This position requires that the employee occasionally travel away from the normal duty station up to 5% of the time.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain Instructor training certification, Common Faculty Development per TRADOC regulation 350-70 within 6 months of employment.
  • Per TRADOC Regulation 370-70, personnel who are assigned to a faculty position will re-certify every five years.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. (NOTE: You MUST attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
