You will serve as a INTERDISCIPLINARY in the AUV Operations Branch (N942), Ocean Collections Division (N94), Ocean Projects Department (N9) of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.
Duties
You will collect, process, quality review and evaluation of side scan sonar senor, bathymetric, and oceanographic environmental data during periods of TDY while being a member of a survey team.
You will perform spatial analysis, geo-processing and geodatabase development on survey data sets being uploaded post mission while at sea.
You will coordinate and implement new / improved methods for more efficient data processing using state of art, proprietary or commercial software package.
You will investigate and extract environmental data from external sources for data analysis.
You will present technical results or describes technical processes in both oral and written from and prepare high-level briefing material.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience preparing tailored environmental products to fill on-demand/immediate data requests to include (but not limited to) seafloor geology, bathymetry, meteorology and/or physical oceanography in the form of digital data, GIS maps, and environmental reports for customer/sponsor;
Experience coordinating or implementing new/improved methods for more efficient data processing and product generation for environmental support;
Experience interpreting and/or integrating multiple data types, to include (but not limited to) seafloor geology, bathymetry, meteorology and/or physical oceanography, for analysis and development of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and digital report products;
Experience investigating environmental data from literature and external sources for data analysis and cross-check with existing data sets to compile the highest resolution data for survey pre-planning and verification;
Experience using software processing tools/packages that include: ArcGIS, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe Photoshop to prepare high resolution products, build environmental reports and track production.

For General Physical Science Series, 1301
A. Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.
OR
B. Combination of education and experience -- education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
For Oceanography Series, 1360
A. Degree: major study of at least 24 semester hours in oceanography or a related discipline such as physics, meteorology, geophysics, mathematics, chemistry, engineering, geology, or biology, plus 20 additional semester hours in any combination of oceanography, physics, geophysics, chemistry, mathematics, meteorology, computer science, and engineering sciences.

B. Combination of education and experience -- course work as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
