About the Position: This position is located in the Force Design Section, Fielded Forces Integration Directorate, Fort Leonard Wood, MO.
Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, bordering Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2-hour drive east and Springfield is a 1-hour drive west of Fort Leonard Wood.
Duties
Advise Commanding General and Commandants on all aspects of force structure.
Conduct analysis of Maneuver Support and Protection force structure process.
Responsible for evaluation of Maneuver Support Center of Excellence functional areas in management analysis, system design and application, concepts and doctrine, Force Design Organization Papers and Tables of Organization and Equipment.
Perform research in Maneuver Support concepts, force structures, organizations, planning factors, systems and/or procedures and the Maneuver Support aspects of contingency plans.
Prepare briefings, attend conferences and represent Maneuver Support Center of Excellence regarding Maneuver Support concepts, force structures, organizations, systems, and procedures.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance for this position.
- Must be able to travel overnight with less than one week notice.
- Must be able to operate a government sedan or rental car while traveling.
- Job requires incumbent to travel by air and ground up to 20 percent of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: conducting analyses and/or studies related to Maneuver Support force structures, Table of Organization and Equipment design; applying knowledge of Maneuver Support operations to the Total Army Analysis (TAA); evaluating concepts, organizations, systems and procedures for Maneuver Support for the Army; applying skills and technical knowledge of Army's combat development system, Maneuver Support organizational capabilities, force structuring techniques in the research and analysis of; conducting research and investigations on various Maneuver Support operations; providing technical advisory services on force development activities; and preparing and providing briefings to high level officials. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
