You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in Rock Island, Illinois of NAVSUP AMMO LOG CENT MECH.

Duties

You will be responsible for interfacing with and supporting DoD and Navy program management and supporting organizations for assigned programs, participating in the development of operational logistics support with emphasis on ordnance supply support You will provides the conventional ammunition life-cycle functions of distribution, storage, demilitarization, and production of munitions of all U.S. military services, other government agencies, and Allied nations as directed. You will coordinate a broad range of supply and logistics issues. You will monitor and facilitates procurement actions for Navy

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following : having extensive knowledge of Ammunition inventory management functions to include logistics processes and systems relating to Life Cycle Support Processes, transportation, allowance, acquisition policy, financial requirements systems, and budget processes. Analyzing and evaluating methods and techniques used for process improvement to include sampling techniques, audits, monitoring program execution, and establishment of operating targets is also required. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Coordinate supply and logistics issues to ensure requisitions are expedited and resolve transportation and systems interface issues; 2) Represent an organization in meetings by coordinating and providing information on issues as required; 3) Monitor and facilitate procurement actions to ensure issues are surfaced to the highest levels within when they cannot be resolved at working levels; and 4)provides the integration of supply logistics technical functions and policy that comprise the inventory management, material movement management, and material coordination, control and policy development functions assigned.
