About the Position: This position is located within the Martin Army Community Hospital, Fort Moore Georgia. The incumbent will serve as the Simulation Program Specialist who oversees simulation training and exercises overall responsibility for coordinating training, supply and budget requirements for a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) Simulation Center.
Duties
Manage and coordinate training of highly sophisticated virtual reality medical simulators.
Act as a proctor for simulation training and assists other proctors by overseeing training.
Train civilian and military personnel on proper use of each simulator/training equipment.
Troubleshoot and problem solve simulators/equipment within a medical treatment facility.
Utilize office automation software to gather/maintain data relevant to medical simulation training.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
- Incumbent will be required to have a Hep B immunization series as we as an immunization screening as a condition of employment.
- This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing and coordinating simulation training for the proper use of medical simulator equipment; utilizing computer databases to obtain and edit medical simulation data; maintaining appropriate documentation for budget requirements; and overseeing the safe use of medical simulator equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Adult Education or Medical/Healthcare Simulation. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
