About the Position: Serves as a Financial Systems Specialist performing analytical duties related to planning, supporting, and maintenance of financial systems. This position may be filled at the GS-07, GS-09, or GS-11 grade level with promotion potential to the target grade.

Duties

Serves as a Financial Systems Specialist performing analytical duties related to planning, supporting, and maintenance financial systems: Automated Time, Attendance, and Production System (ATAAPS) and Defense Civilian Payroll System (DCPS). Monitors operation of the systems; analyzes regulations and policies; determines need for and submits System Change Request to enhance the systems; and advises on system problems and recommends solutions. Plans and coordinates with customers changes related to input of time and attendance and other data and develops and issues local instructions as necessary regarding the assigned systems. Studies, analyzes and interprets local, DFAS, DA and DOD directives to determine impact upon operations. Provides guidance and technical assistance to the AMCOM community on the operations of the financial system.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.
