The Tax Division is seeking a highly skilled candidate to serve as Supervisory Records and Information Management Specialist with significant experience and a strong background in Records and Information Management support functions.This position is located in the Records Management Unit, Office of Information Management, Office of Management and Administration, Tax Division, Department of Justice (DOJ). The incumbent serves as the Records Manager for the Division.

As a Supervisory Records and Information Management Specialist GS - 0308 - 13, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Supervise employees; oversee, plan and assign the work of contractors.
Maintain and monitor an integrated records and reporting system; oversee the transfer of the official Division's files and permanent records to and from the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).
Perform a variety of analytical assignments relating to records and information management; design and conduct studies to resolve broad and important problems related to records and information management; develop and conduct regular quality control reviews, compliance audits, risk assessments, and surveys to improve workflow; design processes and procedures related to records management that make optimum use of automated tools.
Work with key stakeholders (including Division managers, Counsel, and the Office of Information Technology) to build electronic records management functionality into the Division's enterprise architecture and legacy systems.
Serve as an expert and an authoritative source of consultation for records management issues, including advising on matters such as the adequacy, creation, and management of records.
Develop, implement, and update the Division's records and information management policies and guidance. Develop practical and workable rules for implementation of policies by Division staff.
Requirements
- You must be a United States Citizen or National.
- You may need to submit to a drug test and receive a negative drug test result before you can be appointed into this position.
- May require completion of one year probationary period.
- You will need to successfully complete a pre-employment background security process pending completion and adjudication of the background investigation before you can be appointed to the position.

- This is NOT a remote position. You will be required to work in person at our Washington, DC offices. However, some Telework may be authorized.
Qualifications
To qualify for the position of Supervisory Records and Information Management Specialist at (GS-0308-13), you must possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
To be eligible for the GS-13 level, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Examples of specialized experience include but are not limited to: supervising employees; overseeing, planning and assigning the work of contractors; providing substantive technical assistance to employees and contractors in program management of records; serving as the Contracting Officer's Representative for records management and information management contracts; managing a records and information management program; developing and implementing policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting information; applying a substantive knowledge of management principles, processes, analytical and evaluative methods as they related to the evaluation of records and information management programs; researching and applying records management laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures; using the principles and concepts of information governance of various phases of records and information management; implementing the records process and content management framework that supports the life cycle of agency records.
Time in Grade Requirement: Current government employees on a permanent appointment in the competitive service must demonstrate one year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the occupational series and grade.
