The position is at the Bureau of the Fiscal Service (FS), Information & Security Services (ISS), Architecture & Engineering Division (AED). The position, the Service Broker, guides business and customer areas in the selection of solutions, alternatives, technologies to support and/or enable expected business outcomes, meet current and future business needs, and also functional and non-functional requirements.

As an IT Specialist (INFOSEC/PLCYPLN), you will:
- Serve as an IT Specialist Service Broker, working with Business and Customer areas, to analyze multiple technology solutions, options, alternatives, and service providers to best align business needs and outcomes with technology while also maximizing the security, resiliency and cost-effectiveness of mission-critical infrastructure and applications in the FS investment portfolio, including High Value Assets (HVAs). Work closely with Enterprise Architects, Security, and Business architects and provide FS wide strategic process, approach, and technology alignment to FS, Information Security Services (ISS), Federal Reserve, commercial banks, fiscal agents, financial agents, Treasury, and other commercial service providers. The employee has the responsibility of coordinating and facilitating enterprise-wide technology evaluation to business requirement alignment.
- Serve as the primary business to technology and governance liaison and contact / facilitator between FS business / customer areas and FS wide Governance and Enterprise Architecture. Provide FS areas with dedicated advocates that lead efforts to define business cases, build governance documents, navigate the governance process, lead technology / architecture design and review efforts, and explore alternatives so that technology enables and meets business requirements.
- Collaborate across the enterprise to align solutions strategically and capitalize on reusing and adapting preferred technology, as well as potential new technology solutions that exist in the marketplace. This collaboration provides a detailed enterprise-wide understanding of business and technology direction needed to better align efforts, investments, and solutions across the enterprise.
- With little administrative direction or oversight, lead customers through the design and develop the enterprise-level infrastructure and platforms required to meet business outcomes while addressing problems of system integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms. Act as highest-level technical liaison expert, assuming an organization-wide leadership role for strategic IT consulting. Lead multiple consulting efforts; work to ensure the success of enterprise level-application rollouts. May be assigned to an application, business, data, desktop, infrastructure, network, security, or solution architect specialty.
- Architecture Governance: Establish and enforce architecture governance processes to ensure that technology solutions are designed, implemented, and maintained according to industry best practices, standards, and security guidelines.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Specialized Experience:
For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility at the GS-12 level in the Federal service or equivalent, which have equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Serving as a technical liaison working with pertinent information between an organization and customers where professional oral and written communication was required; AND
- Negotiating with a broad range of audiences to support and justify a position, policy, or plan and recommending changes or courses of actions; AND
- Composing written presentations or briefings and making oral delivery of those presentations to senior level management, customers, or other stakeholders.

In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must have proficiency in each of the four competencies listed below.
- Attention to Detail, such as developing and maintaining enterprise-wide strategic plans.
- Customer Service, such as leading senior level managers in mapping the journey of customers to determine best direction.
- Oral Communication, such as presenting briefings to senior management officials on controversial issues.
- Problem Solving, such as making decisions and recommendations that significantly influence agency IT policies or programs.
