The position is located in the Veterans Administration (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Mid-Atlantic Care Network (VISN 6), at Salem VA Health Care System (SVACHS). It is organizationally aligned under the Organizational Development and Employee Experience Office.
Duties
Directly reports to the Chief of Organizational Development and Employee Engagement.
Is the primary liaison with the Chief of Organizational Development and Employee Experience and provides all administrative and technical assistance to the Service Line.
Has delegated authority in varying degrees to carry out those duties for managing and coordinating employee initiatives including, but not limited to, the Employee Recognition Program, All Employee Survey (AES), and Best Places to Work Survey (BPTW).
Serves as the primary AES Coordinator and has primary decision-making responsibility for the AES mapping.
Ensures that mapping is completed each year.
Is responsible for providing assistance with updating the LEAF portal for AES plans as needed.
Is responsible for maintaining the Stay In VA Data Tracking App.
Provides administrative support for activities that encourage employee engagement and connection including volunteer opportunities and engagement events hosted internally and in the community.
Creates and maintains reports on progress of employee initiatives.
Is the first point of contact for the service line, and as such, provides information via telephone, in person, and/or email to organizational leaders and employees pertaining to Organizational Development and Employee Experience programs and services.
Able to exercise independent judgment in addressing unanticipated situations presented by employees, supervisors, or executive leadership.
Reviews documents, reports, and/or applications for omissions and inconsistencies, and ensures data entry is complete and accurate.
Completes weekly, monthly and quarterly reports for the service line.
Receives all telephone calls and correspondence which are then screened based on knowledge of the program and refers to appropriate personnel for action.
Sets up controls to monitor suspense dates.
Establishes and maintains records and files according to written guidelines.
Responsible for recording minutes at Employee Experience Committee (EEC) meetings and staff meetings, preparing agendas for EEC and staff meetings, maintain certification files for all staff members, and develops and maintains email distribution lists.
Orders, maintains, and, when necessary, arranges for the purchase or repair of office equipment and supplies including supplies needed for employee engagement events.
Registers the Facility for volunteer activities outside of the facility as appropriate.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 02/20/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS 6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS 5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS 5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Technical knowledge of the assigned Service Administration, Operations and Mission. Knowledge of an extensive body of regulations, laws, procedures, methods and techniques unique to the service that require extended training and experience to perform such work as: extracting information from various sources when this requires considering the applicability of information and the characteristics and quality of the sources; Assignments range from interrelated to nonstandard procedural necessary to complete and/or resolve a wide range of assignments and problems.

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, but may require some walking, bending, stooping, standing, stretching and carrying objects such as files/binders. Work also requires spending time performing keyboarding duties.
